VISITING

See, touch, feel! It is an interactive tour around six original settlements from different parts of the world. One can visit a traditional Ghana village, a Peruvian hut, an Indian tipi, an Arctic igloo, a Mongolian yurt and a Papua stilt house. One can tangibly experience distant cultures, traditions and customs thanks to the photos, exhibits from remote parts of the world and meeting people who worked in those places. It is a great occasion to feel a different reality, raise empathy and a wish to co-operate. Tour time: 1 h

A SCHOOL VISIT

MEETING A MISSIONARY

A lay missionary can come to a school or nursery school and share their experience of working on missions. Children learn what missions are, where they are held, who a missionary is and what their work looks like. It is also a wonderful occasion to get to know something about their African and South American age mates’ life. The meeting is supported by a multimedia presentation and exhibits from the missions.

EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Children are introduced to the specific tasks every missionary has in a mission country, its culture, daily routines and problems at a school lesson. The topics are as follows: missionary work, child labour, children’s rights, poverty, access to safe drinking water and education. Workshops are adequate to the children’s age and are held interactively, there is group work, simulation, discussions, active tasks and multimedia presentations.
